Hearst Employees Say Magazine Boss Led Toxic Culture
At Cosmopolitan workforce conferences, laborers whine of
segregation and hypocrisy. Previous workers say the Hearst Magazines president,

Troy Young has
surrendered, the CEO of Hearst told workers.
For quite a long time Hearst magazines have exhorted
American ladies on how they should behave in the home (Good Housekeeping,
Redbook), in the public eye (Harper's Bazaar, Town and Country) and in the room
(Cosmopolitan).
This is the organization whose stars have included Oprah
Winfrey, the head of O: The Oprah Magazine, which Hearst has helped run since
2000; and Helen Gurley Brown, the notable editorial manager who changed the
once-sullen Cosmopolitan into a shocking month to month that irritated
preservationists and women's activists the same while selling huge on newspaper
kiosks
